Bonding without Boundaries…….

It started back in 2012 when I bought my dream SUV Tata Safari Strome. Since childhood I have been enthusiastic about cars. People usually see cars simply as a medium of transport, but for me it is an extension of my wildest dreams.

The only thing I knew was that now that I owned a SUV I could drive it anywhere under extreme conditions. This made me proud but I did not know that one day my dream SUV would take me to another level of bonding. Back in October 2014, I got a call from Tata Motors that they have a community called “SOUL” (Safari Owners United League) and they wanted me to join. I immediately did the registration process on a web portal. I went through the portal's web blog and saw that there are many in the community who shared their travel experiences.

On 1 Nov 2014 around 11 am my phone rang.

“Hello Sir, we are calling you from Tata Motors. As you are a Safari owner we would like to invite you to our first Delhi/NCR SOUL meet, on 23rd Nov 2014.”

I immediately accepted.

On D-day I was excited. At the venue about 32-odd Safari owners gathered for registration. We recognized in each other a similar passion. The Tata team briefed us that the meet's objective was to bring Safari owners together for a drive to a destination for breakfast on the Sohna-Faridabad road in a convoy. Route charts were distributed and the journey started.

At the venue, we began introducing ourselves to each other over breakfast. Each shared the same passion and enthusiasm and fanatic dreams. We exchanged phone numbers and set up a Whats-app group called “DrivewithSOUL” Delhi NCR. The bonding has grown without bound ever since.
It has more than 150 members from different industries and professions. The community shares passions and hobbies; it takes drives together; we regularly organize off-roading, family drives, weekend drive and much more.

All I can say today is that our knowledge of cars, driving techniques, and our passion to share our travel experiences have made us bond stronger. These bonds will no doubt strengthen in the years to come, and it is all thanks to the one and only “Safari”.

Can “The Dwarka Expressway” become the Game Changer for Delhi NCR MARKET?

Gone are the days of luxury housing projects, with the new government today the major focus is shifting towards the affordable or low cost housing in Delhi NCR market. The real estate industry in Delhi NCR is finally making some radical shift towards the changing market which is much talked about for those who are relying on property business, it’s a painful business as of now for the investors and property dealers/agents since last 1.5 years, as per the survey by Hindustan Times, “Sales are down 50% during January-March 2015 against a year ago and new launches have reduced”. The statement was given by Ashutosh Limaye, who is the head of research and real estate intelligence services in Jones Lang LaSalle – a global real estate services firm. He also said, “Unsold inventory in Delhi-NCR is at its peak of 170,000 units in January-March. Given such a trend, prices are set to fall by 15% to 20% in next three-five months”.
By the end of March 2015, there were around 1, 45,000 unsold units in the NCR. Out of these, Noida had the maximum pile up of 100,000 units followed by Gurgaon having 26,000 units with the new government the Gurgaon real estate is expected to roll back to its normal scenario but still the current market situation is same as Noida, Faridabad and Delhi. One can say if the new FDI policy and prologue of real estate investment trusts (REITs) supports each other things will look very different for both developer and consumer, as BJP governments prime focus is on the low cost housing. Currently developers are not lowering the prices and buyers are refusing to meet the asking rate, resulting in zero transaction and to break this deadlock government needs to pitch in to boost the buyer’s confidence or the developer’s needs to lower the prices to meet the buyers expected level of pricing.
As we all know Investing in property or owning a house is a big dream for any individual and the major question in once mind is where to invest the hard earn money in today’s market scenario, though its believed that there is a price correction of 20% to 25% but still more sort of organized strategy needs to be applied by the developers to regain the momentum as Indian reality sector is expected to touch the greater heights by 2020 to play a much bigger role in the country’s economic growth.
Between all this thousands of crores of real estate investment banks on the THE DWARKA EXPRESSWAY” Officially called as Northern Peripheral road (NPR) after a delay of 7 years this place is ready to roll back or become a game changer for the Delhi NCR real estate market for its radical shift towards the demand if the government supports comes in with the fast phase social infrastructural developments and policies which is favorable to both buyers and developers.
The Dwarka Expressway is much more than just an expressway with residential projects around it, this expressway project is a fine example of government and private sector joint venture to support in the development as it also has a greater national significance. It is an integral part of the Mumbai-Delhi Industrial Link Corridor. After Chanakyapuri it will be the second location where the government is developing the NCR’s second diplomatic enclave. Major contribution on the expressway is going to come from Haryana government as a part of its developmental plans for Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex, the Haryana Government has envisaged a Mass Rapid Transit System Corridor (or metro rail) along Dwarka Expressway. This will start at Dwarka and go on towards Manesar and Neemrana via a metro hub that is coming up in a 162-acre plot at Kherki Daula where the new Inter State Bus Terminal is also being built.
Dwarka Expressway  is surrounded by a great future infrastructural growth like airport, shopping mall, hospitals, schools and KMP (Kundli–Manesar–Palwal) or Delhi Western Peripheral Expressway running just round the corner with its parabola-shaped Dwarka Expressway is an 18km stretch of 150m-wide road starting from Dwarka, It will connect Palam Vihar and the proposed SEZs in Gurgaon to NH 8 near Kherki Dhaula and bypass at Pataudi Road making Dwarka expressway also easily connected to Sonepat, Jhajjar, Gurgaon, Mewat and Palwal districts which can prove to be a game changer for Dwarka Expressway as big developers like Tata Housing, Puri Constructions, Ansals, Mahindra Housings, Bestech Group, Vipul Group, Homestead Group, AMB Group, Raheja Group, Godrej Properties, Ramprastha, BPTP and M3M, have lined up projects  with over 30,000 units coming up in the near future. Again the big question is how will the customer react to the current pricing prevailing in the current market scenario and the best answer to this is a better organized development and selling strategy along with the government support for better fast phase planed social infrastructure development, both of these needs to move hand in hand with a coordination where there is a win- win situation for developer, government and Consumers/Investors. Today one can vouch that, Dwarka expressway is a market for next 5 to 8 years and one goanna nearly double his/her money if the investment is made within next 6 to 8 months, One can say it will be future of Delhi NCR real estate market with its much organized planning of social infrastructure like main roads (75 mtrs wide) street lights, storm water system which is already up and running.
With the current market situation the investors lobby has one option Dwarka expressway as an investment opportunity. Early investments have shown excellent growth where investors’ interest is very positive. Slowly and gradually the whole Dwarka expressway can turn around the Delhi NCR market of real-estate which is going through a very lean phase currently. As per the market experts and online web portal the Dwarka expressway is identified as one of the promising investment destinations with a projection of prices doubling in next 5 to 8 years and while we talk about the investor lobby let’s not forget the end users as there is a huge inventory of value-for-money-units in attractive location/sectors for once future living.
Lastly the developers have to re-think about the correction in the pricing before it’s too late along with the commitment on the delivery of flats/floor and plots which will support the market to roll back for some good business. If you have money as consumer/investor go for the future market which is expected to turn around the current market but do a full proof research before investing your hard earn.

Dwarka Expressway - The New Golden Hen

The Dwarka Expressway - The New Golden HenAuthor - Tushar Ranjan

As per the Delhi NCR market scenario today the ratio of demand and supply is way apart from each other, the Punjab and Haryana high court  vacated its stay on construction along a 2.5km stretch of the 18km-long Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) or Dwarka Expressway, connecting Dwarka with National Highway 8, which was stuck in litigation as property owners along the proposed thoroughfare demanded a fitting resettlement plan, with the new 2.5 km stretch okay ed the market trends towards the Dwarka Expressway is changing but still one has to think with over 30,000 units coming up how will the customer react to the current pricing prevailing in the market, I vouch this is a market for next 5 years, you gonna double your money if the investment is made in next 4 to 6 months though the social infrastructure and government policies will take its time but still things will change as the location is very much premium with airport, shopping mall, hospitals, schools are just around the corner. One can say it will be future of Delhi real estate and much organized in terms of planning. Infrastructure like main roads(75 mtrs wide) street lights and storm water system are already up and running. Developers have to re think about the correction in the pricing and with the commitment on the delivery of flats things will be rolling back for some good business. If you have money as consumer/investor  go for the future market but do you research before investing.

Digital & E-Commerce Marketing (Online Revolutions)

Digital & E-Commerce Marketing (Online Revolutions)

Author - Tushar Ranjan

Gone are the days when companies believed in the traditional way of marketing of their products, India is finally making some radical shifts towards the demand of the current generation.  The young Gen-Xers who are tech savvy has made the marketers to re-think on their marketing strategy.

Despite the fact that marketers have a wealth of demographics data available about the potential customers, the marketers have lagged behind with the traditional way of marketing with the new generation customers. The introduction of digital marketing & e-commerce in India is exciting for the new young Gen-Xers, which also sometimes make them way ahead of the market in terms of information about the product. The eager customers are aware of the new products, launches, manufacture information and it has also helped in increasing the exposure towards the International Brands. More and more companies are tapping the internet and social media platforms to help their businesses flourish leading to an increased demand of digital marketing executives. Around 1.5 lakh jobs in the digital marketing field are expected to come up in the next couple of years, according to human resource experts.

Social Media Marketing, Mobile Marketing, Online Marketing, Lifestyle Marketing all have evolved themselves in the digital marketing & e-commerce competitive market, as per survey more than 40 million customers access internet from their smart phones/mobile device or I pads and these numbers are increasing day by day in India. The main stream digital marketing tools till 2009/10 was Facebook/Twitter but lately it has fully grown to incorporate Google+, Websites and YouTube, don’t forget Whats-app, LinkedIn and also add Pinterest to the list. Competition today is coming in all shapes, sizes, and locations. Before the globalization of Internet era, competition was often right across the street and it was limited. Today, competition is no longer restricted to location.

Today sitting at one place a person can study the products he/she wants to buy, check on the review by the other buyers of the same product and with just a click of mouse the product reaches to him/her. All this might just take less than 10 mins of your valuable time, it can’t get easier than this, this is not only a customer benefits, online marketing of all types offers superior measurability and track ability in comparison to traditional tactics. This is of course due to the nature of the Web, where every mouse click is tracked.

In this way, online marketing provides companies the ability to test a wide array of tactics, evaluate which generates the best response, and then adjust the marketing program accordingly.

Drive With SOUL: A herd of Wild Beasts Tamed By Passionate Owners

We were tribesmen first, bonding over bonfire on  starlit nights under open skies, dancing to the orchestra of wild brooks and collective laughter emerging from the deep bowels of Souls celebrating the bounties of mother earth.
Then we evolved and things got complicated, nations, religions, caste, community and language all played a role to divide while we thought we are evolving as a species. No more. The baser instincts to belong to a tribe are back and we long to belong to a tribe that disenfranchises us from our passions and forces to follow rules that make us deaf to the rhythm of the heart.
No more!! like Bob Dylan said “For the times they, they are a-changin”,  the tribesmen instinct are back and the urge to merge with a group that shares a common passion is so strong that men are forging bonds that are stronger than the ones that were ossified over millennium.
From photography groups to hiking in Himalayas a new breed of tribesmen (and women) is taking center stage and this 26th January weekend I met one such tribe. The S.O.U.L or the Safari Owners United League is a tribe of very passionate owners, drivers, and wide-eyed lovers of a beast that they are so proud to take everywhere. I met some very passionate S.O.U.L riders like the group leader Mr. Atulay Nehra a lawyer by profession,  who was leading the tribe from Delhi border all the way to Jim Corbett National Park. Incidentally Mr. Nehra is now with his third Safari and  still owns his Safari number two. His wife is also an equally passionate driver and loves to take Safari when she has some spare time from raising her three boys ( A husband and two sons )

Mr. Nehra ( in shades) explaining some finer aspects of driving in hills
But it was no ordinary convoy, every single Safari was given a numbered sticker and they moved in a sequence to avoid anybody taking a wrong route. But it had a big advantage as you need to drive in discipline in your designated spot in the convoy there were no attempts to overtake, honk or unleash the dark side of the force. The #DriveWithSOUL sure knows how to tame the beast and use his muscle on the meandering roads.

The bonhomie of the group was visible at the breakfast stop when I actually got to interact with some of them for the first time. It was obvious that the only common bond in this tribe is their love for their Safari, otherwise what is the reason for a Lawyer, a Doctor, an Automobile Engineer, a code jockey, a tech support executive and other motley crew to come together and talk nothing but Safari. It is only in such a passionate group you see drivers cleaning their Safaris just before hitting a dirt track. Well as Mandy a young Owners said “ à¤¶ौक भी कोई चीज़ होती है  (Shoq bhee koi cheez hotee hai) or there is something called passion” Mandy has done more than 135,000, in his Safari in less than 3 years and still feel he does not get enough time to drive.!

Mandy and his beast have done 135,000 KM in 3 years across India

A Family that drives together
But the #DriveWithSOUL was not just about riding the beast it was also about brotherhood, and family time. As most of the S.O.U.L members who joined the drive are family men and it was nice to see moms, kids, and even granny’s coming on the drive. Contrary to popular stereotype that the SUVs are driven by men I found enough women driving the beast around to make you wonder who makes all these stereotypes. On a lighter note the women who tamed their husband may have found the thorough bred beast The Safari, from the stud farm of Tatas as easy as Mary’s little lamb to take places.

Country Road Take Me Home :A Kafila of Safaris on NH 24 Regional Drive North
The evening was spent on the banks of Kosi in the resort reliving the old days singing and dancing around bonfire. But I retired early as the next morning we had planned an early morning safari to the Core Zone of Jim Corbett National Park. But most animals were hiding in the biting cold and we came back with just a few pictures of Deer, Wild Boar, Pea Fowl and the mandatory pug-marks that every guide to a tiger park shows to visitors whenever they are unable to spot a tiger.

Flame of Forest is a state of mind and not a flower
The highlight of the day was our trip to the riverbed that all the S.O.U.L drivers were excited to reach as it tested the offloading ability of their Safari, whom they fondly refer to as “The Beast “This was not the first outing of the group, who have gathered in past also to take their Safaris to various places and trips together. From a journey to the Sariska National Park in Rajasthan to a Paratha trip to the Internationally World Famous Murthal Dhabas on NH1, they have indulged in some cool trips in past. But this drive to Jim Corbett is the first real long drive with 2 nights stay in a luxurious resort on the banks of river Kosi bordering Jim Corbett National Park, the home to Royal Bengal Tigers.

#DriveWiithSOUL: A Herd of Wild Beast meet at river bank to quench their thirst
The riverfront looked like the playground herd of thirsty Wild Elephants of Corbett, who assemble on the banks of Ramganga River to quench their thirst. During this playtime I realized why the beast needs to be tamed, while the Safari is a very powerful SUV you still cannot leave it on its own with all its muscle. It needs a skillful driver to get the best out of the machine.

Why Emotion Drives Conversions!!!

Why Emotion Drives Conversions -

As marketers, we often focus on supplying prospects with in-depth information about our products and services to allow them to make an informed decision.  Of course this usually contains a slight sales spin highlighting the benefits of our offerings so that an informed decision leads them to the right choice of picking our product.  But is this the right approach?
The Science
Neuroscientists have discovered that our brains are designed to follow our emotions as opposed to intellect, meaning it is in fact the emotional part of our brain which governs our decision making process.  The problem with this is that the limbic system, which creates emotion, has no capacity for language.  Therefore, as marketers, we should be focusing on generating the required response through means other than large amount of informative text – it’s not what the prospect reads, its the way it makes the prospect feel!!!

Russia “Puzzled” Over Malaysia Airlines #MH370 “Capture” By US Navy #pray for MH370

dgz1
A new report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (GRU) states that Aerospace Defence Forces (VKO) experts remain “puzzled” as to why the United States Navy captured and then diverted a Malaysia Airlines civilian aircraft from its intended flight-path to their vast and highly-secretive Indian Ocean base located on the Diego Garcia atoll.
According to this report, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (also marketed as China Southern Airlines flight 748 through a codeshare) was a scheduled passenger flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing, China, when on 8 March this Boeing 777-200ER aircraft “disappeared” in flight with 227 passengers on board from 15 countries, most of whom were Chinese, and 12 crew members.
Interesting to note, this report says, was that Flight 370 was already under GRU “surveillance” after it received a “highly suspicious” cargo load that had been traced to the Indian Ocean nation Republic of Seychelles, and where it had previously been aboard the US-flagged container ship MV Maersk Alabama.
dgz2
What first aroused GRU suspicions regarding the MV Maersk Alabama, this report continues, was that within 24-hours of off-loading this “highly suspicious” cargo load bound for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the two highly-trained US Navy Seals assigned to protect it, Mark Daniel Kennedy, 43, and Jeffrey Keith Reynolds, 44, were found dead under “suspicious circumstances.”
Both Kennedy and Reynolds, this report says, were employed by the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based maritime security firm The Trident Group which was founded by US Navy Special Operations Personnel (SEAL’s) and Senior US Naval Surface Warfare Officers and has long been known by the GRU to protect vital transfers of both atomic and biological materials throughout the world.
dgz3
Upon GRU “assests” confirming that this “highly suspicious” cargo was aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on 8 March, this report notes, Moscow notified China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) of their concerns and received “assurances” that “all measures” would be taken as to ascertain what was being kept so hidden when this aircraft entered into their airspace.
However, this report says, and as yet for still unknown reasons, the MSS was preparing to divert Flight 370 from its scheduled destination of Beijing to Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK) located in Hainan Province (aka Hainan Island).
Prior to entering the People Liberation Army (PLA) protected zones of the South China Sea known as the Spratly Islands, this report continues, Flight 370 “significantly deviated” from its flight course and was tracked by VKO satellites and radar flying into the Indian Ocean region and completing its nearly 3,447 kilometer (2,142 miles) flight to Diego Garcia.
dgz4
Critical to note about Flight 370’s flight deviation, GRU experts in this report say, was that it occurred during the same time period that all of the Spratly Island mobile phone communications operated by China Mobile were being jammed.
China Mobile, it should be noted, extended phone coverage in the Spratly Islands in 2011 so that PLA soldiers stationed on the islands, fishermen, and merchant vessels within the area would be able to use mobile services, and can also provide assistance during storms and sea rescues.
As to how the US Navy was able to divert Flight 370 to its Diego Garcia base, this report says, appears to have been accomplished remotely as this Boeing 777-200ER aircraft is equipped with a fly-by-wire (FBW) system that replaces the conventional manual flight controls of an aircraft with an electronic interface allowing it to be controlled like any drone-type aircraft.
However, this report notes, though this aircraft can be controlled remotely, the same cannot be said of its communication systems which can only be shut down manually; and in the case of Flight 370, its data reporting system was shut down at 1:07 a.m., followed by its transponder (which transmits location and altitude) which was shut down at 1:21 a.m.
What remains “perplexing” about this incident, GRU analysts in this report say, are why the American mainstream media outlets have yet to demand from the Obama regime the radar plots and satellite images of the Indian Ocean and South China Sea regions as the US military covers this entire area from Diego Garcia like no other seas in the world due to its vital shipping and air lanes.

"Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that at this solemn moment, we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity".

Science Behind Colors in Marketing

WHY IS FACEBOOK BLUE? THE SCIENCE BEHIND COLORS IN MARKETING

TURNS OUT, SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS TWEAKING THE COLOR OF A BUTTON CHANGES USER BEHAVIOR OR ENDEARS PEOPLE TO YOUR PRODUCT. BUFFER'S LEO WIDRICH EXPLAINS THE IMPORTANCE OF COLOR IN WEBSITE AND BRAND DESIGN.

First: Can you recognize the online brands just based on color?
Before we dive into the research, here are some awesome experiments that show you how powerful color alone really is. Based on just the colors of the buttons, can you guess which company belongs to each of them?
Example 1 (easy):
Example 2 (easy):
Example 3 (medium):
Example 4 (hard):
These awesome examples from YouTube designer Marc Hemeon, I think, show the real power of color more than any study could.
How many were you able to guess? (All the answers are at the bottom of this post!)
Which colors trigger which feeling for us?
Being completely conscious about what color triggers us to think in which way isn’t always obvious. The Logo Company has come up with an amazing breakdown that shows which colors are best for which companies and why. Here are 4 great examples:
Black:
Green:
Blue:
Clearly, every one of these companies is seeking to trigger a very specific emotion:
When we feel compelled to buy something, color can play a major role. Analytics company KISSmetrics created an amazing infographic on the science of how colors affect our purchases.
Green stands out to me as the most relaxing color we can use to make buying easier. We didn’t intentionally choose this as the main color for Buffer--although it seems to have worked very well so far.
At second look, I also realized how frequently black is used for luxury products. Here is the full infographic:
How to improve your marketing with better use of colors:
This all might be fairly entertaining, but what are some actual decisions we can apply today to our website or app? The answer comes yet again from some great research done by the good folks over at KISSmetrics.
If you are building an app that mainly targets women, KISSmetrics suggests that women love blue, purple, and green, and dislike orange, brown, and gray.
In case your app is strictly targeting men, the rules of the game are slightly different. Men love blue, green, and black, but can do without brown, orange, and purple.
In another experiment, Performable (now HubSpot) wanted to find out whether simply changing the color of a button would make a difference in conversion rates.
They started out by trying to guess the outcome of a simple choice between two colors (green and red) and trying to guess what would happen.
“Green connotes ideas like “natural” and “environment,” and given its wide use in traffic lights, suggests the idea of “go” or forward movement. The color red, on the other hand, is often thought to communicate excitement, passion, blood, and warning. It is also used as the color for stopping at traffic lights. Red is also known to be eye-catching.”
So, clearly an A/B test between green and red would result in green, the more friendly color. At least that was their guess. Here is what their experiment looked like:
So how did that experiment turn out? The answer was surprising: The red button outperformed the green button by 21%.
What’s most important to consider is that nothing else was changed at all: 21% more people clicked on the red button than on the green button. Everything else on the pages was the same, so it was only the button color that made this difference.
This definitely made me wonder: If we were to read all the research before this experiment and ask every researcher which version they would guess would perform better, I’m sure green would be the answer in nearly all cases. Not so much.
At my company, we’ve also conducted dozens of experiments to improve our conversion rates using changes of colors. While the results weren’t as clear, we still saw a huge change. One hypothesis is that for a social media sharing tool, there is less of a barrier to signup, which makes the differences less significant.
Despite all the studies, generalizations are extremely hard to make. Whatever change you make, treat it first as a hypothesis, and see if the actual experiment supports your ideas. Personally, I’m always very prone to go with opinion based on research I’ve come across. Yet, data always beats opinion, no matter what.
